About Us

The Sisterhood of Temple Isaiah is the collective presence, voice, and strength (within the congregation) of its women members. Our exciting yearly calendar is filled with events to appeal to spiritual, educational, social, family, and organizational interests. Sisterhood membership includes membership in the national Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), 75,000 women from over 500 synagogues in North America and around the world.

Sisterhood invites every woman in the congregation to become a member, to participate in its activities, and to become a leader. Toward that goal, Sisterhood offers women new to the congregation a complimentary one-year membership.

The mission of Sisterhood is to bring together the women of Temple Isaiah to serve our Temple, support our community, and enrich our lives through personal growth and friendship. We strive to foster and further the highest ideals of Judaism. We accomplish this mission through social and educational programs, worship, fundraising, community service, and involvement with the Women of Reform Judaism. Our activities, enhanced by the richness of our diversity, further our commitment to Jewish ideals, education, spirituality, social action, and leadership development.

Sisterhood connects. . .

Sisterhood connects its members, temple, and community by:

  • creating numerous opportunities to connect with other women
  • offering stimulating classes with the Rabbis
  • providing exciting educational and social programs
  • providing a newsletter for its membership
  • sponsoring “Circles”—affinity groups with interests that include book groups, movie groups, knitting group, gourmet cooking, walking groups, biking group and more
  • Supporting life cycle gifts, Temple programs, and Tzedakah in the community

Temple Isaiah Sisterhood has hundreds of members. Its goal is to continue to strengthen not only its membership, but also the quality of the Sisterhood experience. Sisterhood will focus on maintaining and increasing the sense of intimacy and community that is characteristic of Sisterhood. At the same time Sisterhood will continue to nurture the spiritual and intellectual development of its members. Please join us.
